Since we didn't meet for class today to account for the holiday, there isn't really much to update on for the work done this week. We met on Monday to go over more of what we need to have ready for our client next week. The professor has been a contradicting his expectations about when things should be ready, so we're just kinda going with the flow, working consistently to ensure we are meeting the unexpected deadlines. Last week in class we presented our designs to him class and he told us that we seem to be a bit behind schedule. He also originally said that we should have a working product ready to release by this time next week, but then said yesterday that we should be ready to code by next week. This has caused us in the group to not have much of an idea as to whether we are behind, ahead, or right on schedule. In order to avoid falling further behind, we are going to working hard as a group to come up with a working system to release to Bob from Code Camp next Thursday.

In the back end, we have taken our designs and began to set up some skeleton code for the classes and facades that we will use in the back end to create endpoints for the API that our front end developers will be able to use. Charles and Andrew are reviewing the pull requests for these skeletons and, once they are merged into the master branch on git, we will be able to start creating issues/tickets so everyone in the group can start contributing code. I have reviewed A Tour of Go which has come quite easily to me and I'm excited to begin using my new skills to build an API from scratch. I made many API calls during my time at Kayak last year, so I'm very interested to be involved in the process that goes into creating an API from scratch for our team to get use out of.

I'm unaware of the progress being made in the front end with the UI, so it might be a good idea to have more communication between the two teams as we move on with the project. The back end group is meeting on the holiday to get the back end working for the first release, and I image as soon as the back end is in a good spot or has any momentum, that Charles and I will migrate to the front end to help them out with the JavaScript and making these API calls, as I don't think many of the students in that group posses or have confidence in their coding skills.

Next week, our goal is to present stage one of our working product to our client, so stay tuned for updates on how well we achieve that goal!
